Sustainable management of biodiversity and protected areas in West Africa

As part of the implementation of the European Union's Regional Indicative Program (RIP) in West Africa 2014–2020 (11th European Development Fund), in Priority Area 3: Resilience, food and nutritional security and natural resources, in consultation with ECOWAS and UEMOA, an action to support the preservation of biodiversity and fragile ecosystems, environmental governance and climate change in West Africa was selected - PAPBio" (ROC/FED/039-269).

Component 2 of PAPBio - Regional governance and security - implemented by IUCN aims to instill a regional dynamic for the effective management of protected areas and climate risks (R4), the sharing and capitalization of experiences and knowledge to all levels (R5) and the fight against environmental crime (R6). This component will also coordinate the monitoring of the PAPBio program (R7). Among other processes supported by this component 2 is the monitoring of the entire PAPBio, the promotion, dissemination and learning from the knowledge used and developed by project managers and beneficiaries as well as internal and external communication. in the program.
